| About Tyne Models
The company was started in 2003 by Tom Appleby and Les Thompson.
Tom is a serving tugboat captain and Les was his apprentice. Les
now works ashore.
As they worked together on the real tug "Northsider" they both decided they would like a model of the tug. They approached a UK manufacturer, but the the response was not our type of tug.
